Primitive Music VOL I - 1980's Blood Junkies Tracks

    These songs were recorded on Akai Reel to Reel tape recorders and a Tascam Portastudio. Economy in recording the songs was essential to avoid the pieces being lost in tape hiss!!

    This was the 1980's band I formed with Dennis Pearce following earlier incarnations as Proto Punk band "Alternative Posing". Dennis sadly lost his life a few years back to AIDS, a disease which I'd worked on in the 1990's so this had a certain poignancy for me. That said, the development of treatments gave him an additional 30 years that I did not think he would get. Dennis was one of my best friends from school days.

    What the songs lose from production they gain from their pure primitive nature. We were not great musicians at the time but had some basic ideas of songwriting and musical form. We had replaced our drummer with a machine at the time. He never got over it !!     ... more
